Eco Detection is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Grant as Non-Executive Director and the new Chair of the Eco Detection Board. Rob succeeds Ross Blair-Holt, who served as interim Chair from September 2021. Ross will continue on the Board as Non-Executive Director along with Antony Wyborn and CEO, Jefferson Harcourt.
Rob has over 27 years’ experience with senior leadership roles in ASX listed and private renewable energy and infrastructure companies in Australia and internationally, including Pacific Hydro Limited, SNC-Lavalin Asia Pacific and Fortescue Metals Group Limited.

Rob has a strong personal and professional interest in advocating economically sound climate change abatement policy and regulation and has acted as a trusted advisor to governments on best practice climate change policy in each of the markets his executive career has taken him.
He is currently Managing Director, Head of Projects at Pollination Group where he is responsible for Pollination’s principal investments in energy transition and carbon credit projects. Prior to Pollination, Rob was Director Energy at Fortescue Metals Group Limited until December 2021, responsible for the company’s power and hydrogen businesses including the company’s transition from thermal to renewable generation and leading its strategy to develop a green hydrogen profit centre for Fortescue and industry for Australia.
Until April 2020, he led the formation of and was Chair of the Clean Energy Investor Group – 24 institutional investors owning 70+ power stations and $11+b investment in the National Electricity Market.
Before that, Rob was Senior Vice President Clean Power and Vice President Capital SNC-Lavalin Asia Pacific responsible for their power and capital businesses in Asia and Australia from October 2015 – April 2019.
The majority of Rob’s career in energy was spent at Pacific Hydro Limited where he worked for 18 years (the last 9 as CEO) until July 2014, helping position Pacific Hydro as Australia’s most successful and dynamic international clean energy utility.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and has completed an MBA and Master of Applied Finance at Melbourne and Macquarie Universities.
