Exploring Water’s Depths – Unveiling the evolution and future of surface water, ground water and water quality monitoring.
Eco Detection’s Chief Scientist (Environmental), Dr Bernadette Proemse, has been invited to present at the Australia Hydrographers Association (AHA) 2025 conference – Exploring Water’s Depths.
The AHA 2025 Conference is an unmissable event for water industry professionals in the Asia-Pacific Region. The conference is being held in Launceston, Tasmania, 12-15 May 2025.
The theme for the 2025 national conference is Exploring Water’s Depths – unveiling the evolution and future of surface water, ground water and water quality monitoring.

Dr Proemse will discuss the importance of high-frequency in-situ monitoring for water quality and Eco Detection’s cutting-edge technology as the solution.
The Eco Detection ION-Q+ system is capable of either temporary or permanent deployment to measure and monitor the water quality in real-time, with high-frequency in-situ monitoring.
Dr Proemse will talk to the outcomes of a three-year trial with the Derwent Estuary Program which demonstrated the usefulness of the ION-Q+ technology in enabling timely, informed decision-making based on real-time data.
Key sites where the technology was installed included:
- TasWater sewage treatment plant
- Norske Skog Boyer pulp mill
- Aquaculture operations – fish hatchery
- Meadowbank Vineyard
- Westerway Farm
- Downstream of major agriculture operations
