Eco Detection has recently appointed Dr Phil Fox to the position of Chief Technical Officer with broad responsibility for all aspects of product development and the maintenance of Eco Detection’s intellectual property portfolio. Having worked previously across both the public and private sector, including as R&D Manager for the polymer banknote program with the Reserve Bank of Australia, Phil brings a wealth of experience in the commercialisation of cutting edge technologies. More recently, Phil also acted as lead engineer in the Notus Vivere Ventilator consortium for Grey Innovation, overseeing the rapid development and transfer to manufacturing of these ventilators in close collaboration with industry partners.
Phil has worked extensively with the Eco Detection product in his previous capacity as System Architect on the project with Grey Innovation, helping to drive the development of the system from the early prototype stage to the current build-ready version of the first generation product. His in-depth knowledge of the system and the underlying CZE technology will provide Eco Detection with strong internal capability as the company becomes more operationally independent. This transfer of resources is closely aligned with the Grey Innovation approach to mitigate risk when establishing new ventures.
Speaking about the new role Phil said, “I’m proud of what the engineering team has accomplished with this first version of the product and excited by the strong positive engagement we’ve received from the market. I’m also really excited about the opportunity we have to broaden the capabilities of the device and develop the technology further, opening up new addressable markets for Eco Detection in the near term.”
