Water Quality Monitoring
Governments and industries globally are driving demand for actionable data, driven by stringent policies and increasing compliance costs.
Authorities are penalising polluters and rewarding reductions in waste, while businesses affected by water quality are searching for solutions to increase yield.
Until now, water quality monitoring methods were expensive, inaccurate and time-consuming, requiring frequent calibration and maintenance. Lab grab sampling remains dependant on scarce resources and sample preservation challenges – particularly for N & P – continues to cast doubts over the integrity of these samples.
Eco Detection is the solution.
Available to customers on-demand over a network, using the cloud, our platform offers detailed, accurate, effectively real-time data sourced directly from in-field water quality analysis.
Eco Detection’s end-to-end service for water quality measurements, provides end-users, operators and decision makers with the critical information needed to manage their waterways and water assets effectively.
From taking a sample to having data available in the cloud takes less than an hour, providing timely feedback for operations.
Our platform provides a powerful data visualisation tool to confidently engage with and utilise verified and enriched water quality data. Importantly, data is easily accessible, enabling customers to take immediate action without an in-depth understanding of actual data.
Data Analysis
We understand that the presentation of the data sets to the various stakeholders and target audiences is of keen interest to our customers. Availability of data in a secure format for transfer is critical.
We provide appropriate and secure access to a customer’s data on our data visualisation platform, which uses Multi-Factor Authentication and single sign on using Microsoft accounts or other similar credentials. Data export API connections to our platform are protected by individual customer API keys.
The format of the data we provide is wide ranging from data files to various graphical formats, e.g. bar charts, extrapolated line charts and dashboards.
Data to your inbox
Receive recordings of ion concentration measurements, plus a comprehensive view of water characteristics through auxiliary sensors. Data can integrate into your systems, while an enriched end-to-end data analysis service provides greater insight for the effective management of waterways and water assets.

Systems integration
The provision of data will be via our nominated, secure platform.
The platform will initially be used to provide access to raw data presented in .csv files, along with the standard dashboard presenting the data in graphical form. The costs for telemetry using the local cellular network are included in the data pack costs.
We work with our customers to ensure appropriate presentation of the Ion-Q+ and overlay of other external data i.e., rainfall or flow, as required.
In addition, data can be fed directly into plant SCADA systems for quick decision-making and automated actions.
Installation
Ion-Q+ is a turnkey, readily deployable kit, easily installed in most settings within one day by Eco Detection Technicians.
We conduct a site survey and utilise aerial imaging to determine with our customers the most optimal positioning of Ion-Q+ technology units.
We also confirm:
- Power requirements: Mains or solar and battery
- Set up requirements: base pads, mounting poles, cabling and hoses
- Telemetry options: cellular or Starlink satellite
We confirm all associated costs and resources required for customer approval prior to proceeding.
We can engage a separate external contractor for installation on your behalf for the complete installation.
We typically allow one day for an installation, including initial set up, installation, commissioning and confirmation of data arriving onto the visualisation platform.
Maintenance
A key benefit of Ion-Q+ technology is its low and easy maintenance regime.
Servicing the Ion-Q+ unit will be required after approximately every 1000 samples. This means that for many installations, a service will be required every 8-12 months (depending on the number of samples conducted).
The procedure for servicing a unit is straightforward. It can be conducted by Eco Detection Technicians, by your own personnel or a third party. A detailed instruction guide is provided if the maintenance is not going to be completed by our technicians.
